So we had good news and bad news. The good news was that I was on a plane and I didn’t vomit at all. The bad news was that our plane suffered ‘mechanicsl problems’ and 200miles out we had to fly back to LAX. As the pilot announced ‘at this stage I am definite we will not be flying to Sydney tonight’. So the airline compensate with free hotel for two nights with vouches for each flier. I don’t really think the pilot was willing to go into the danger of our situation but they had to dump a lot of petrol since there’s a maximum amount you can have to land safely. Isn’t that intense? How do you even dump petrol, apparently we were still flying over US land so where would you just release this stuff? Into the sea?! After that shell/bp fiasco last year? And wouldn’t making it gaseous or whatever increase the danger of explosions or something? I know nothing :/ but it’s a question which I should learn the asbswer to!
What if they hadn’t discovered this error when we were past half way?! Wow man… Lol anyway we were compensated with two nights at a hotel and 15$ food vouchers! Our flight resumed on the 21st at 9PM and we arrived in Sydney on the 23rd at 7AM :)

Crap shot but a shot nonetheless?

Tis currently 7PM and I am sitting at Gate 77 of LAX airport. My flight isn’t for another three hours and I just had my last meal for what is technically two days because of the weird time zones! I depart on the 20th LA time and arrive on the 22nd SYD time. Anyway, hopefully the air flight won’t be that bad…
I’m sad to leave so soon because I really enjoyed myself and have been charmed by the marvels of the great American land. Hopefully I can return by the summer or sometime next year! :)

Omg, America is amazing at keeping its people entertained. We watched Sherlock Holmes at universal studios and omfg sound quality!!!!! Makes watching movies in Sydney cinemas seem as outdated as black and white movies :( so since the sound quality was so mind blowing every movie trailer became ten times more exciting and now I want to watch BATMANNNNNN OMF OFMGMFMFMFN and Men in black 3 and even those lame chick flicks… Anyway! We then watched Mission Impossible 4 in their version of IMAX cinemas, bahahaha also a very very cool experience. ALSO, they gave us a ten minute prologue into the dark knight rises and I almost shit myself because it was SO SO SO GOOD AND I XANT WAIT UNTIL IT COMES OUT O M F G. Mission impossible was shit. I hate Tom cruise. Sherlock was good though! Better than its predecessor.

Omg man! This was so fun!

Ah not much to report on today. We went shopping for the entire day, again! I didnt really get much this trip around but my parents bought a lot of things! I am sad that I didn’t manage to get my desired heels (my feet are inconveniently small) nor the trench coat :( but I did get everything else I had originally planned to get plus some other things too ;) Anyway, Ive screwed myself by not being vigilant and posting daily so now my memory has become jumbled, so all posts will be thematic to what I remember! :)

The second MOCA exhibit kind of depressed me because it was so dark and discomforting that the last thirty years represented so much disaster and abuse. My dad shared my thoughts, mum on the other hand did not engage and was fine. We meandered around and found Little Tokyo! It’s so cute :) It started to rain and we took refuge in a restaurant for a nice Japanese lunch. Following our lunch, the rain had ceased and we decided to continue our meandering! We ended up in Chinatown, which was seriously the most deserted Chinatown in the world… Actually LA in general has been quiet, kind of unnerving really…. And it was a Saturday! Lol, we bought noodles with lobster take away for $12.99…. We could’ve gotten a dish each and it still wouldn’t cover lobster on its own let alone in a restaurant in Australia.
We then headed back to the metro and went to Hollywood which actually is not that exciting after exploring Vegas at night. I think this is an indication of me starting to burn out. It has been an immensely exciting and jam packed few weeks and it has also drained all the energy out of me. I just want to go home and sleep in my own bed for once. Not this weird mattress and uncomfortable sheets. ALSO, can’t wait to not sleep in a heated room. I had the worst skin, breaking out from oily food I guess and extremely dry and scaly from dry desert and even drier heated hotel rooms. Personal first world dilemma, I know. Anyway everyone was really tired so we all trooped back to the hotel and feasted on our delicious dinner :)
